Upon first release, I had a LOT of bugs. Most of them related to basic things that I had overlooked on a consistant basis, such as making sure that the exits between levels connected. One constant, if simple, headache was that I typically just inserted creatures from my library. Since many of those contained 0 experience points or didn't have their items equipped I had a lot of simple fixes - but there were a lot. Moral #1 : You have to walk before you run, and crawl before you walk. Be sure that the creatures in your library are ready to be dropped into and encounter. Moral # 2 : Don't get so lost in the fun of creation that you forget to be thorough and methodical in testing. I was methodical, but not very thorough. Moral # 3 : It's a good idea to add a Pre-ExitTome trigger that identifies the character as having exited. This is mentioned in the RS documentation as a useful way to string together individual tomes intended to be a series. I think this idea could be expanded to include noticing other conditions as well, such as a character having gone through a tome that is latter expanded to include other areas. Another, similar, case is the character that is, for whatever reason, taken into the same tome more than once. Maybe that's a no no. The point here isn't really to identify every case in which such an identifier would be useful. Rather, I would encourage Creators to preserve information so that it is available for future use. Once the information is lost it is lost for good. Tomes should be treated as your stand-in. Maybe you'd just like to (through your NPC surrogate) comment on a previously played tome in order to help ground the current adventure in the world setting. That's an option you don't have unless you have prepared before-hand.
